Marshall Curry

Marshall Curry is a two-time Academy Award nominated documentary filmmaker. He got his start directing, shooting, and editing the Oscar and Emmy-nominated documentary, STREET FIGHT, which followed Cory Booker's first run for mayor of Newark, N.J. After STREET FIGHT, Curry was director and producer, as well as one of the cinematographers and editors of RACING DREAMS, which profiled two boys and a girl who aspire to race in NASCAR. That film won numerous awards, including the Tribeca Film Festival Prize for Best Documentary. Curry then edited (with Matt Hamachek), directed and produced IF A TREE FALLS: A STORY OF THE EARTH LIBERATION FRONT which won the Sundance Film Festival award for Best Documentary Editing and was nominated for an Academy Award. Curry’s most recent film, POINT AND SHOOT, tells the story of a young Baltimore native who joined the rebels in Libya fighting Muammar Gaddafi. It was awarded Best Documentary at Tribeca and was released theatrically nationwide. All of Curry’s films have been broadcast nationally on PBS and around the world. He has been a guest lecturer at Harvard, Duke, Columbia, and NYU. Curry was also Executive Producer and additional editor of MISTAKEN FOR STRANGERS about the band The National.
