Matthew Friedman is an economist and criminal justice policy researcher. His research spans diverse topics related to the economics of crime, including the efficacy of intensive policing, the impact of various types of legal sanctions on recidivism, as well as the economic determinants of crime. He holds dual-degrees in economics and broadcast journalism from Boulder and earned his economics doctorate in Madison.
