Meredith Segal grew up in small town Maine with her Mom and Dad who instilled in her, through their examples, the value of service. Meredith studied Neuroscience and Psychology at Bowdoin College, where she co-founded Bowdoin Students for Peace and co-Directed the Bear Buddies program for children with special needs. In the summer of 2006, Meredith created the Facebook group "Barack Obama for President in 2008." Out of that group grew the national, campus-based student organization "Students for Barack Obama." After beginning as a Draft Committee, Students for Barack Obama became the official student wing of Obama for America and grew to include chapters at over 800 high schools, colleges, and graduate schools. Meredith was also served as National Co-Chair of Obama for America.

Following the completion of the campaign, Meredith entered the non-profit sector in Boston. She is currently working as the Disabilities Specialist for an inner-city non-profit organization serving children who are living below the federal poverty line and many of whom have recently come to the U.S. Meredith is also the co-Executive Director of StandUp for Kids-Boston.
