Mical Darley's essays and stories have appeared in Salon, Haven, The Kentucky Post, The John Updike Review, Sou'wester, and The Southern Review, among other publications.She has been an eighteen-year-old retiree (from competitive ice dancing) and an occasional musician. She graduated from Yale and the University of Cincinnati, where she was a Charles P. Taft doctoral fellow. She's primary caretaker for two feisty girls, two and six.
