For decades, Michael has been called upon by top modeling agencies such as Marilyn, One Model Management, Society, Women, Next, and Ford to create career-defining looks for their talent. To say that Michael has worked with many of the world’s most beautiful women would be an understatement – he has dressed the tresses of Brooklyn Decker, Adriana Lima, Erin O’Connor, Carmen Kass, Anja Rubik, Helena Christensen, Devon Aioki, Hailey Clauson, Lydia Hearst, Angela Lindvall, Noot Seear, Selita Ebanks, Hannah Davis, Filippa Hamilton, Valentina Zelyaeva, Alexandra Richards, Patty Hansen, Eve Hewson, and Veronica Varekova… to name but a few. His work has been captured by photographers such as Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, Bruce Weber, Mark Seliger, Russell James, and Inez & Vinoodh and has appeared on the covers and within the pages of nearly every major fashion magazine, including Vogue, Elle, Allure, V and Numero.

In 2014, Elle honored Michael with their Beauty Genius Award and dubbed him “The Model Whisperer” in recognition of his work developing the cut and color of countless up and coming muses.

His press accolades span the globe: Allure‘s Directory featured Michael’s haircutting skills on the front page of their Little Black Book, celebrating his “fastidious technique” and “the most face-flattering cuts this side of the looking glass.”  T: The New York Times Style Magazine raved “the colorist of choice … for his magical highlights.” British Elle has called Michael’s work “perfection.” He has been called “white hot” by Daily Candy and he has caught fire in Asia, with Japan’s Madame Figaro, Bob, and Maquia, and Korea’s Anan all featuring him as one of the best stylists in the world. Vogue Brasil called Michael a “star” and Italian Flair declared him a “beauty guru.”

As a result of Michael’s visionary work within the modeling industry, Wonderland is also called upon regularly by arbiters of style and cultural tastemakers within the world of fashion and beauty such as Poppy King, Jami Morse Heidegger, Paul Andrew, Lauren Remington Platt, Elettra Wiedemann, Marilyn Minter, Periel Aschenbrand, and Dianne Brill. Michael has also worked with such bold-faced names as Dita von Teese, Simon Doonan, Beyonce, Alan Cumming, Susan Sarandon, Bette Midler, and Jane Fonda. In addition, he has worked on campaigns for Pantene, L’Oreal, and Revlon and has styled hair for the iconic Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Michael served for three years as an Atelier Director for Shu Uemura Art of Hair and currently educates hairdressers on the art of beauty on behalf of Oribe Haircare.

Michael is also an accomplished designer, photographer and director. Michael has also gained international acclaim within the design world for his creation of Wonderland. His work has been featured in books and magazines such as Elle Décor (Hong Kong), Elle Decoration (U.K.), Spas (Loft Publications, Italy), and:Guide New York, and an eight-page profile in Case da Abitare (Italy). His collection of the world’s first scratch-n-sniff wallcoverings for Flavor Paper, called “The Fruit Cocktail Collection,” benefited the Human Rights Campaign and is included in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. His first photographic exhibit, The Lipstick Portraits, debuted at 401 Projects and was praised by Interview, The Daily Beast, The Village Voice, Change.org and Vogue Italia. His first narrative short film, Reflecting Adrianne, won awards at the Manhattan Film Festival in 2014 and the L.A. Neo Noir Festival in 2016.
