Commissioner, U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, Lawyer, Government Affairs consultant, and Political Analyst
The U.S. Congress, on the recommendation of then Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, appointed Michael Yaki to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights for a 6 year term in February 2005 and to a second term in 2011.
Mr. Yaki is a former elected member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and a former senior advisor to Rep. Nancy Pelosi. In 2008, Yaki served as the National Platform Chair of Obama for America and the DNC.
Yaki runs his own government affairs consulting company, Michael Yaki Consulting. He is also the political analyst for KRON4 TV news in San Francisco, California. He is a member of the California Bar and graduated from UC Berkeley and the Yale Law School.
