Mushreq Abbas has been managing editor of Al-Hayat in Iraq since 2005. He is a contributing writer for Al-Monitor’s Iraq Pulse and has written studies and articles on Iraqi crises for domestic and international publication. He has also co-founded media companies and produced documentaries. An author and journalist for 15 years, he holds a degree in political science from Baghdad University and is a specialist in the affairs of the armed Islamic groups.
