Naba Sharif, M.D. is Director of the Allergy/Asthma Division at one of the largest multi-specialty medical practices in the Washington, DC area. Naba has consistently merged her passions for humanitarian and outreach work, particularly related to disadvantaged communities, international health and interfaith dialogue. She has worked in Guatemala treating orphans and was invited to Israel/Palestine as an instructor to gifted teenagers for innovative interfaith programs. She has organized several free health fairs domestically and serves as a Physicians for Human Rights Asylum Network Provider. Naba was honored by the U.S. Department of Justice with the U.S. Young American Medal for Service. Following an M.D. with Distinction in Research, she has had several academic publications. She is a columnist for the online newspaper Patch and is the editor for the American Muslim Health Professionals blog.
