Nana is a Former Miss USA. She attended Duke University where her father was the first African American to be admitted and graduate from the medical school. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in Political Science and went on to study post graduate premedical sciences at USC. Nana was also a member of the UCLA Women’s Volleyball team. She broke 3 NCAA records, became a two time All American and helped lead UCLA to an NCAA Final Four. She went on to play professionally and was invited to train for the 2008 Olympic Games in Colorado Springs. In 2007, Nana co-founded a 501 (c) (3) international non-profit called Meriwether Foundation that operates programs in health, education, nutrition and development in rural and impoverished communities in Southern Africa. Nana is the Editor of Well, There's This - a wellness blog. She is currently Executive Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief of Harper's Bazaar and has contributed to publications including Vanity Fair, CR Fashion Book, and Vogue Australia.
