Mark Silva is a political journalist who has covered several presidential elections and written for major newspapers and a wire service and produced political blogs online. He covered the 2000 presidential election recount in Florida for The Miami Herald, covered the White House for The Chicago Tribune (George W. Bush's second term) and ran the government team in Washington, D.C., for Bloomberg News covering the White House, Capitol Hill, Supreme Court, federal agencies, presidential campaigns and conventions and national politics. He is the author of a book about John McCain as the 2008 Republican presidential nominee.
