Chef and Founder of Restaurant Nora
NRDC’s 2010 Growing Green Awards judge Nora Pouillon is a chef and founder of Restaurant Nora, the first certified organic restaurant in the United States. With a lifetime commitment to nutritionally wholesome food, balanced eating and sustainable living, Pouillon initiated the first producer-only farmer’s markets in Washington, D.C., and was instrumental in creating organic certification standards for U.S. restaurants. Her cookbook, Cooking with Nora, was a finalist for the Julia Child Cookbook Award.
