Actor, writer and producer; co-founder, Table Ten Films
Paul Marcarelli is an actor, writer and producer and co-founder of Table Ten Films. He is most recognizable from his steady work over the past 12 years as an actor in commercials. Since 2002, he has appeared in hundreds of national spots for Verizon Wireless, portraying the ubiquitous "Test Man" character, earning him the dubious honor of being named the Most Intriguing Pitchman of 2002 by Entertainment Weekly. A founding member of the non-profit theater company Mobius Group, he was involved in the New York staging of the lesser-known works of some of theater's most influential playwrights. With Mobius, he co-produced -– and appeared in -- Warren Leight's The Loop, Eric Bogosian's Scenes from the New World, Richard Nelson's Jitterbugging, Wendy MacLeod's The House of Yes and Elmer Rice's The Adding Machine, which won the Award for Overall Excellence at The New York International Fringe Festival in 2001. Marcarelli has produced the sold-out and critically acclaimed New York productions of Bridezilla Strikes Back and Semi-Permanent, both winners of the Award for Outstanding Solo Show at FringeNY in 2005 and 2007 respectively. His screenplay for the award-winning feature film The Green, a story about a gay teacher accused of misconduct with a teenage student, was a finalist in NewFest’s New Draft Screenwriting Competition in 2009. The film has gone on to become a centerpiece at numerous festivals across the country and will be in release Oct. 18, 2011.
