Paula Broadwell

Co-Founder and Co-Director of Think Broader Foundation, Author, Speaker, Women's Rights Advocate

Paula Broadwell is the co-founder and co-director of Think Broader, a media consulting firm. She brings over 20 years of military, academic, and non-profit leadership and consulting experience to Think Broader's efforts to empower women.

With professional experience in over 60 countries, Paula brings a breadth of knowledge of women's issues and women's empowerment across the globe. Her travels have taken her to war zones, refugee camps, bedouin communes, and terrorist training sites. She has worked at the grass roots level with indigenous populations as well as with senior U.S. and foreign officials and the private sector to promote women's advancement, including tackling human trafficking in the U.S. and abroad, promoting women in the military, and advocating for equality in the corporate workplace.

Paula has served in leadership positions and on the boards of Women in International Security, Institute for Defense and Business, AUSA-Europe, the All Veteran Group, Women Executives, Women's Impact Fund, and other organizations dedicated to defense, veterans, and women's empowerment. She is also the co-founder of the Active Charlotte Alliance, a coalition dedicated to improving community physical and mental wellness rankings on the American Fitness Index.

Paula is a regular public speaker. She has spoken to over 50 corporate and academic groups across the globe; published articles, blogs, book chapters and a New York Times best-selling leadership book; she has been a guest on CNN, Fox News, Charlie Rose, ABC, BBC, NPR and other news outlets on security and gender-related issues.

Paula is also a competitive triathlete and skier. With her husband Scott Broadwell, she is a parent of two young boys.

Paula is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, University of Denver, and Harvard University, and has studied at Kings College London and the University of Jordan.
