Founder and Executive Director, The Friends of Mel Foundation

Pauline Alighieri is the Founder and Executive Director of the Friends of Mel Foundation, which empowers people touched by various cancers through education and support programs.

Since 2007, Friends of Mel first started offering bracelets as a way to honor Pauline’s good friend Mel Simmons, who passed due to breast cancer. Hundreds of thousands of bracelets are being worn by supporters and over three million dollars have been raised for cancer-related causes.

Recognizing an unmet need in the cancer community, The Friends of Mel Foundation created the ‘The Art of Living-Life Beyond Cancer’ conference in 2011. With renowned speakers, expert-lead workshops and skill-building seminars, attendees leave with practical tools and techniques to help them tackle some of the toughest issues they face along with feeling empowered to live a life beyond cancer.
