Peggy Lipton was born in New York City and raised on Long Island. She modeled for Eileen Ford at 15 and attended Profession Children’s School in Manhattan. There she developed a keen interest in acting and studied with the famed Herbert Bergdorf at HB studio in the West Village. She moved with her family to Los Angeles at 17 and was discovered by a Hollywood agent dancing at a party. She was cast as the uber cool blond undercover cop in the successful TV series “Mod Squad,” which ran on ABC for 5 years. During the last year of filming she met her husband Quincy Jones. They were married for 14 years and have two daughters. After raising them, Peggy went back to work on the cult classic Twin Peaks starring as Norma Jennings, who ran the Double R Diner. She continued modeling for Calvin Klein, Vogue Italia and O magazine. She has spent time and lived in India, Italy and France In 2005 she wrote a memoir entitled “Breathing Out” published by St Martin’s Press. It reached the top 25 in the New York Times Bestsellers List. She is currently writing another book and recently been cast in a reoccuriing role on the Showtime series” House of Lies, “premiering February 2012.
