Rev. Angela Zimmann, Ph.D.

Rev. Angela Zimmann, Ph.D., holds degrees in Industrial Engineering, Divinity, and Rhetoric and Writing. Her homiletical experience includes preaching at the National Assembly of the ELCA as well as in NYC in the months following 9/11 and teaching several courses as an adjunct professor at The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. She serves an ELCA parish in Riga, Mich., and teaches full-time in the General Studies Writing Program at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. In 2011 she was the President of the Northwest Ohio Region of the Ohio School Boards Association. Currently, she is serving her second term on the Governing Board of the ESC of Lake Erie West, and is the 2012 Democratic Candidate for US Congress in OH-5. Zimmann and her husband, Dr. Martin Otto Zimmann, live with their children, foster children, goats and chickens in Holland, Ohio, on land that has been in her family for four generations.
