Rhea Perlman

Rhea Perlman is a four-time Emmy Award winning actress for her work as Carla, on the hit NBC sitcom “Cheers”. She is married to actor/director Danny DeVito. They have 3 children: Lucy, Gracie and Jake. Rhea played Danny’s love interest on the TV series “Taxi”. They later starred in the film adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic “Matilda,” which DeVito directed.

Perlman is a longtime advocate for children. In 1980 she helped start one of the first workplace day care centers in Los Angeles at Paramount Studios, which is still in operation today. She has spoken at the White House about the need for universal child-care and after-school programs, and has written opinion pieces about the failures of the child-welfare system in California.

She has also advocated for the adoption of older children from foster care, and in this context has worked with the Children’s Action Network to help produce videos of these children. She is dedicated to seeing each of them find permanent loving homes.

Rhea is an longtime supporter of the Children's Action Network, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Childhood Diabetes Center, LA’s Best After School Programs, the Alliance for Children’s Rights, and the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for children of Los Angeles.
