Ron Thomas

Director, Morehouse College Journalism and Sports Program

Ron Thomas is the director of the Morehouse College Journalism and Sports Program, which was conceived by famed filmmaker Spike Lee and the late journalist Ralph Wiley. Previously, Ron was a sports reporter for 35 years, including at USA Today and the San Francisco Chronicle. He is the author of “They Cleared the Lane: the NBA’s Black Pioneers” about the integration of pro basketball. Ron has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Rochester and an M.A. in Journalism from Northwestern University
