Sandra VanderVen is a Seattle native, avid cook and longtime HuffPost reader. For fun she scours the Huffington Post for interesting articles and peppers her conversations with facts thus gleaned. She also enjoys cooking whatever happens to be in the house and is a bit nutty about whole grains although she’s getting better. She used to play drums and intends to get back to that.
