Sara Ackerman

Sara is an Online Organizer with PowerThru Consulting where she assists progressive non profits and Democratic candidates with email campaigns, social media strategy and blogger outreach. Prior to joining PowerThru, Sara worked on a number of political and issue campaigns including a state senate race in southern California and a ballot initiative in Maryland. Sara also worked as the Project Coordinator of the Move Your Money Project, a campaign created by Arianna Huffington of the Huffington Post that encourages individuals and institutions to divest from ‘Too Big To Fail’ banks and move to small community banks and credit unions. Under Sara’s direction, the Move Your Money Project experienced a revival, inspired by the Occupy Wall Street movement and Bank Transfer Day. To date, over 10 million individuals have moved their money, with an additional 5.6 million moving in the Fall of 2011.
