Sara Zervos

CEO/Founder, BizzyChicks

Sara Zervos is the founder of BIZZYCHICKS, a social media venture aiming to improve financial literacy among young women and inspire them to pursue careers in the world of business. Sara is a contributing writer for Forbes.com and HuffingtonPost.com and runs her own consulting firm Global Reach where she provides bespoke global economic and investment research. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Rochester, and a B.A. and Honors Degree in Economics from Arizona State University.  Sara has managed emerging markets investments for 13 years, and has worked in the finance industry for over 20 years.  Most recently, she managed over $20 billion in international fixed income assets as head of the Global Debt team at OppenheimerFunds, managing or co-managing four retail mutual funds.  She had previously held portfolio management positions at three hedge funds, worked as a Senior Financial Economist at the World Bank, was an economist/ research analyst in at Barclays Capital and WestLB, and taught financial economics courses at Brunel University in England. She has held seats on the Federal Reserve’s sub-committee on Foreign Exchange, the UBS Research Advisory Board, and the Emerging Market Trading Association Board.
