Sholom Brodt

Founder, Yeshivat Simchat Shlomo

Sholom Brodt has been working in formal and informal Jewish education for over thirty years. A master Judaic studies teacher and storytelling, Sholom was educated at the Chabad yeshiva in Montreal, as well as other yeshivot in both Toronto and Jerusalem. He has an MA in Jewish Education from the Yeshiva University in New York. A long-time student of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach zt”l, Sholom received Rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Carlebach in 1989. He founded Yeshivat Simchat Shlomo in 2001 with the vision of giving over Torah and Chassidut in a style and environment inspired by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. Believing that it is vital that we interact and study Torah, share and celebrate, and truly learn how to live together as one people, Sholom visits and teaches across North America in communities of all denominations. His tours are replete with Shabbatonim and classes in Torah, Chassidut, meditation, personal growth, and much more. In between the Beit Midrash tours, Sholom lives in Nachlaot, Jerusalem with his wife Judy. He teaches Torah and Chassidut at Yeshivat Simchat Shlomo, which is based in his home and the shul next door. He and Judy are always happy to open their home to guests for
classes and Shabbat and holiday meals.
