Stephen Adams joined AIER in 2012 from a stint as deputy director at the National Fund for Workforce Solutions, which helps low-wage workers move from dead-end jobs. From 2005 to 2009, Steve was the New England Small Business Advocate, for the U.S. Office of Advocacy. He has also served as president/chief executive at Pioneer Institute for Public Policy Research, vice president at the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City, and as senior analyst at Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation. Steve holds a BA in political studies from Queens University, Ontario, Canada, and a MPA from Pennsylvania State University. He has served as a board director and advisor to several nonprofit organizations including Common Cause Massachusetts and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Business Empowerment Center.
