Stephen Parkinson read history at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, where he was elected President of the Cambridge Union. He spent two years working for the British Conservative Party, briefing successive leaders Michael Howard and David Cameron, before becoming Director of Research at the Centre for Policy Studies. In late 2007 he returned to Conservative Central Office, where he works on the party’s target seats campaign.
Arena of Ambition, his history of the Cambridge Union, was published in May 2009.
