Steve Hindes

Steve Hindes is a lecturer at the University of Denver Institute of Policy Studies, a practicing physician, and author of Think For Yourself! -- Cutting Through the Babble, the Bias, and the Hype, published by Fulcrum Books.

Dr. Hindes also has a background in public health, with a focus on national health policy. He has appeared on the McNeil-Lehrer Newshour to discuss healthcare reform proposals. His approach to both clinical medicine and to policy is one of "evidence-based decision-making." These principles have been translated into proposals for "evidence based policy-making" which is the subject of his book. Dr. Hindes believes that all policy-making must be informed by broad and deep grasp of available data, and evaluated through the lens of history, philosophy, and science.
