Tommy Craven

Activist filmmaker and senior at NYU's Gallatin where his concentration is the Exploration of Gender & Sexuality in Film.

Tommy Craven is a senior at New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study where his concentration is the Exploration of Gender and Sexuality in Film with a producing minor at the Tisch School of the Arts.

Originally from Jasper, Indiana, Tommy moved to New York City to develop his skills as an activist filmmaker committed to using the power of narratives and images to inspire social change. He has interned at top-tier networks including HBO Inc., MTV, and LOGO where he was recently promoted to a full time position as a production assistant.

Tommy has produced two professional short films including Blonde starring Broadway veteran, Max Von Essen, that premiered at the Big Apple Film Festival in November. As he moves toward graduation in May of 2015, Tommy is completing his colloquium titled “Producing Progressive” about critiquing the use of the term progressive in media and will be shooting his senior thesis film titled Getting Off in April 2015.
