Tunde Wey

Founder, Detroit Big F Deal

Tundey Wey was born in Nigeria and moved to Detroit at 17. His parents have sometimes referred to the intervening years between his 18 and 28th birthdays as the "lost years." In this time, he practiced Nichiren Buddhism (which still exerts a strong influence on his thinking), changed his major a couple of times, played a lot of indoor soccer and was generally cavalier about life. At 25 he opened up a grocery store with his brother. They started the business right around the start of the recession. They were out of business in about a year. Tundey moved back in with his family... a year after which he moved to Detroit (April 2011) to start a crowd-funding website called Detroit Big F Deal. He is currently working on some other web projects: Social Cheesecake, and some other things.
