William Danvers

William Danvers is a Special Representative for International Affairs at the World Bank. Danvers has worked on national security issues for 36 years in the executive branch, Congress, various international organizations, and the private sector. Prior to joining the World Bank, Danvers was, among other things, the staff director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for then-Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) and worked at the National Security Council and U.S. State Department during the Clinton administration. He also worked at the CIA and U.S. departments of Defense and State during the Obama administration. In addition, he served as deputy secretary-general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris, where he was responsible for relations with nonmember nations, including regional programs in the Middle East, East Asia, and elsewhere. He was also a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress, where he worked on a range of national security issues.
