Novelist, Naturalist, Pulitzer Prize-winning Journalist

William Dietrich is the author of twelve novels, including the most recent Ethan Gage Adventures, NAPOLEON’S PYRAMIDS, THE ROSETTA KEY, THE DAKOTA CIPHER, THE BARBARY PIRATES, THE EMERALD STORM, and the upcoming THE BARBED CROWN. An award-winning journalist and naturalist, he shared a Pulitzer for coverage of the Exxon Valdez oil spill and was one of the first reporters to the scene of that story. He also covered the eruption of Mount St. Helens, losing a photographer friend in that disaster. He has written five book of Northwest environmental history, and is a winner of the PNBA Award for non-fiction. He taught environmental journalism at Western Washington University and was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University. He lives in Washington State. His website is www.williamdietrich.com.
