Founder of Talk About Local
William Perrin is the founder of Talk About Local -- a public service project in the UK to empower communities by giving them an effective voice on the web. Talk About Local is funded by 4IP, Screen West Midlands and Advantage West Midlands. Prior to that William was technology policy advisor to Prime Minister Tony Blair and in 2007 commissioned the world-leading Power of Information work on helping government get social media and data mashing.
William writes here in an entirely personal capacity about public sector use of the internet and hyperlocal publishing.
