We're not the biggest believers in New Year's resolutions, especially ones that have to do with vows to go to the gym or to stop eating dinners over 500 calories. Most of the time, we're happy enough with our kitchen workout routines, and the comfort food we reward ourselves with afterward. Still, after two foodie marathon months -- the lead-up to Thanksgiving and the gluttonous back-to-back holiday parties that follow it -- we don't need to make a resolution to make us want to detox.

These dishes are not about cutting-out calories or carbs or fat. Our 2012 diets are about eating lighter foods with plenty of green to jumpstart our bodies and our immune systems for the New Year, in hopes of remaining healthy and cold-free. Cook these recipes for a quick weeknight dinner, and use the leftovers in your brown bag lunch for the days that follow.
