Kerry Popularity Soars in New Gallup Poll

In a new Gallup poll considering the approval rating for Secretary of State John Kerry, he received sky-high favorable ratings of 60 percent and disapproval ratings of only 31 percent.

These Hillary Clinton-like high approval numbers for Kerry are fascinating and revealing at a time when favorable ratings for political and government figures are modest, to put it charitably. Kerry is receiving such high public approval because he is widely seen as championing a forceful and principled position on Syria while simultaneously making Herculean efforts to achieve peace between Israel and Palestinians.

Americans want leadership of clarity, consistency and conviction, which the secretary of State is providing to advance President Obama's policies on the front lines of diplomacy and national security.
