At the Seattle Interactive Conference, I sat down with Callie Schweitzer, Director of Digital Innovation at TIME, and Jeff Lanctot, CEO of Mixpo, and former Global CMO of Razorfish. Both Callie and Jeff have experience in brand building, and I asked them what they thought about the roles of transparency and authenticity in building a brand.

For Jeff, transparency gives brands power, giving people content whenever and wherever they want it. For Callie, authenticity gives brands power, and leveraging people's personal brands gives a brand like TIME the capability to thrive.
