The actor, who reunited with the director for "Avatar: The Way of Water," said Cameron dismissed her safety concerns while filming a scene in "Aliens."
Cameron said he made "a bunch of notes for six months," which he then shared with his writers room as he set out to develop "The Way of Water."
"It's a physical shift and it's something that you have to learn how to do," Winslet said. "But at the same time, it's also a mindset."
The director recently reunited with Winslet for the upcoming “Avatar” sequel.
Subtitled "The Way of Water," the follow-up to the director's 2009 film is set to run for 3 hours and 12 minutes.
Cameron called the young star's bluff and ended up casting him in a role that would change his career, the director told GQ.
