A U.S. Navy sailor has succumbed to injuries sustained in this week's deadly Tennessee rampage, bringing the victim death toll from the shooting to five.

The Associated Press and other outlets have identified the deceased as Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith. The Navy said the sailor died at 2:17 a.m. Saturday.

Smith was a reservist serving on active duty and was originally from Ohio, NBC News reports. Ohio Gov. John Kasich took to Twitter to express his condolences following the news of Smith's death.

Authorities say 24-year-old Muhammad Youseff Abdulazeez opened fire at a recruitment center on Thursday before driving to a Marine and Navy reserve, where he killed four Marines and wounded others. Officials say he was armed with two long guns and a handgun, as well as a vest that carried additional ammunition.

Among those killed in the massacre include Marine Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Sullivan, Marine Lance Cpl. Squire "Skipp" Wells, Marine Staff Sgt. David Wyatt, and Marine Sgt. Carson Holmquist.
