It seems like gone are the days of clients coming in and requesting color or highlights while simultaneously asking that you ensure their hair doesn’t look colored. We all have had clients that didn’t want to deal with the harsh grow out of highlights or color. Well at least that’s how it use to be, but keep in mind that trends are constantly changing. One thing is for certain, what is trending today may not be trending tomorrow.

Unlike days of the past, color is changing. While it use to be true that clients couldn’t wait to get their roots redone this certainly isn’t the current trend. Grown out roots with lighter ends such as balyaging or color melting is very popular right now.

Do you know what’s even better? The styles that we use to label as “punk rock hair” are shaking up the runways, not to mention front covers of magazines. There were many circles in the past who would have considered these looks to rebel.

Currently, we are seeing colors ranging from blue to violet to pink, yellow, green, and yes, even a pale orange. There’s also beautiful diverse shades such as rose-gold, silver, and titanium.

Pairing these colors up with each other is a terrific way to create an amazing look. There are pink roots that fade into a lighter pink and gradually turn into really light peach ends. Then there are those black roots that melt into a rich blue. The sky is truly the limit with these crazy cool colors.

Even my kids are requesting these colors for their hair. Pairing up all of these colors can be fun for any age. Just remember to always have a professional stylist create this masterpiece. Not only will they suggest the right colors for your hair palette, they will also take into account what is best for your skin tone. Have a colorful day!
