This year the American Art Awards (www.AmericanArtAwards.com), juried by the 25 Best Galleries & Museums In America (listed below), had online art images in 50 CATEGORIES submitted from artists in 56 COUNTRIES: Albania, Argentina, Australia, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Egypt, England, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UK, Ukraine, USA, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Wales.
The 1st Place to 6th Place winners in all 50 categories will be revealed in the news about a category a day, stretching into November, making this one of the longest winner announcements of any art competition in the world.

I am a Swedish painter born in the capital city of Stockholm year 1954. As a young woman, I moved to Halmstad on the west coast of Sweden, where I have lived ever since.
I have drawn and painted as far back in time as I remember. After five years in art school with teachers like Hardy Strid, Gunther Teutsch and Olle Waller, I have been a professional artist. I have continuously been developing my skills and stile on my own and in contact with ideas and techniques from courses and workshops. I have exhibit my paintings in small and large exhibitions since 1978 with great response from the public and experts, which has given me satisfaction and new impulse in developing my imagery.
Through the years, I have studied the character and expression of the landscape, the city, the essence of the matter, and the people. From a more figurative and realistic representation of my observations, I have successively developed a more expressionistic and sometimes symbolic way of painting. To be in the middle of a process where the subconscious and the conscious choices meet, is thrilling.
When a painting, which may begin as an external observation or a fanciful touch of colour, starts to tell its own story, it feels magic. To find technical and representative solutions is a challenge and is what gives me incentive. The most difficult part in my work is to know when to finish a painting; when the balance between harmony and forcefulness that I want to achieve is reached. Somewhere between the over-explicit and the inexplicable, will the greatest tension and the maximum expression be found.
Once I finish my painting, I give my personal truth to you, the viewer; for you to find your own interpretation… to be touched…

I’m 24. First seven years of my life I spent in Kaliningrad - little town near baltic sea, then my family moved to Moscow. There I ve graduated in Russian State University of Cinematography. I have a lot of experience working in film industry as an artist in Russia. I was doing environment design, character design and concept art on many different projects. Mostly of that were short films, less music videos and commercial videos. My passion is drawing and photography.
