69th Annual Christmas Around The World And Holidays Of Light

The Museum of Science and Industry has officially decked the halls with boughs of holly.

MSI is kicking off the holiday season with their 69th annual Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light exhibit. Take a stroll through the museum and see dozens of sparkling decorated trees, carolers and dancers.

There is a 45-foot tree in the center of the Rotunda with more than 30,000 lights and 1,000 ornaments. Fifty smaller trees surround it.

Volunteers from some of Chicago's ethnic communities decorated the smaller trees, and the decor represents the volunteer's various cultural and holiday traditions.

The holiday exhibit starts Nov. 18 and runs through Jan. 9 at the MSI, 57th Street and Lake Shore Drive.
