98 Degrees 'Today' Show Reunion: Band Performs Together After 10 Years (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

98 Degrees Heats Up Again

Ten years have passed since 98 Degrees performed together.

MTV was showing "Total Request Live" instead of "Jersey Shore," no one knew Lady Gaga, and Nick Lachey was married to Jessica Simpson. But on Friday, the band finally reunited on the "Today" show's summer stage.

Once part of one of the most popular groups around, the reunited members of 98 Degrees -- Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre -- say they have transformed from a "boy band" into a "man band."

"It's great to be back together and do what we love to do together on stage," Nick Lachey said, with brother Drew chiming in, "There's back pain, throat pain, knee pain, ankle pain, hip pain. Our menu went from like steak and lobster to Metamucil and prune juice."

The band released their first album in 1997 and had their first mega-hit with "Because of You."

Viewers were taken back to the '90s when 98 Degrees reunited on Friday, singing "Because of You," "Hardest Thing," "I Do (Cherish You)" and "Invisible Man."

"We view this opportunity as a chance to kind of test it out and see if it was still fun, and I think we're all very happy to say we're having a great time," Nick Lachey said on "Today". "I think you can expect more from us down the line."

The band is set to play the Mixtape Festival in Hershey, Penn., on Saturday, which will also feature Kelly Clarkson, The Fray and LL Cool J.

"In the ten years since our last performance as 98 Degrees we’ve each achieved personal success and grown as individuals, while remaining a close-knit family," said a statement from 98 Degrees, which was obtained by The Hollywood Reporter in July. "With so much to celebrate, this reunion is going to be one big party, so whether you tune in to the Today Show or join us at the MixTape Festival, everyone’s invited.”

"Everybody just had to get to a place in their lives where they felt comfortable with committing to being in a group again," he told Rolling Stone. "We're all in a place where we can get behind it and give it a good run. We've been talking about it for years, but someone would have a commitment for a six-month period and after that someone else would have a commitment. We didn't want to go out without the complete line-up. It had to be all four of us."

Life has certainly taken the four men down different paths.

Nick married former MTV VJ Vanessa Minnillo in July 2011 and the two are expecting their first child together, a baby boy. Drew, who has two children himself, won the second season of "Dancing with the Stars" and followed that up with stints on Broadway. Timmons released a solo album in 2004, while Jeffre joined the Occupy movement last October.
