If you are an avid fan of NYC art history, you are no doubt familiar with Kenny Scharf, well known for his work during the East Village art scene of the 1980s. His work is largely made up of paintings of pop icons in various mediums and with a sci-fi perspective. Kenny's track record is impressive, his work having been displayed in museums all across the country, including the Whitney, which chose his work for the 1985 Whitney Biennial. I jumped at the chance to meet Kenny and recently caught up with him in the Hamptons to discuss his most recent project, Karbombz.
