"The Goode Family": ABC's New Cartoon Lifts Joke From "The Office" (VIDEO)

In the first season of the U.S. version of "The Office" manager Michael Scott gets himself in trouble during the company's diversity day and tries to recover by creating his own games and tests. They do not go well and while he ponders what he could've done differently the following exchange occurs:

Michael: I just wanted...I just wanted to do it our way. You know? On our own. Man I should have gotten some food...If I'd brought in some burritos or some colored greens. Or some pad Thai. I love pad Thai.

Stanley: It's collard greens.

Michael: What?

Stanley: It's collard greens.

Michael: That doesn't really make sense. Because you don't call them collared people, that's offensive.

Last night on ABC's new animated sitcom "The Goode Family" the same joke was repeated.

"The Goode Family," which premiered last night to mixed reviews (see a few here, here and here), is the brain-child of Mike Judge who also created "King of the Hill" and "Beavis and Butt-head."

It pokes fun at the politically correct world of uber-liberalism, which is ripe for the mocking. Unfortunately, the show is a lot lock this clip: It feels like a recycled joke you've heard a million times in other, better forms.
