Alexi Casilla Turns Double Play Off Defelcted Hit In Twins-Tigers Game (VIDEO)

WATCH: Twins Turn Lucky Double Play

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. The Twins haven't been much of either this season as they continue their battle to stay out of the basement of the AL Central, until Tuesday. With a bit a good fortune, the Twins turned a jaw-dropping double play.

With two outs and men on first and third in the fifth inning, Tigers left fielder Andy Dirks was up to bat. Detroit had already tied the game at one earlier in the inning. Dirks hit a line drive right back at pitcher Samuel Deduno and it looked like Detroit was going to add another run.

The righty reached out to catch it but the ball deflected off his glove. Fortunately for the Twins, the ball ricocheted off Deduno and flew directly to second baseman Alexi Casilla, who caught it and immediately doubled up Omar Infante to end the inning.

Minnesota went on to batter Detroit with 18 hits and win 9-3.
