#AlohaHuffPost Roundup: Hawaii's Love Affair With Palm Trees

Your Ode To Palm Trees On #alohahuffpost

We love learning about HuffPost Hawaii readers through #alohahuffpost. This week, we learned you love palm trees. Like, really love them.

And what's not to love? Palm trees are amazing. The tallest palm can reach 160 feet, the oldest known palm grew 80 million years ago, and there are over 2,500 species of the trees around the world. Palm trees produce delicious coconuts, dates and jellies. They give us shade at the beach and much-needed homes for awesome, endangered parrots.

The palm branch symbolized victory, triumph, and immortality in many ancient cultures. Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, was often depicted holding a palm branch.

Well if palm trees mean victory, Hawaii is winning big time. Here's your #alohahuffpost roundup of the most beautiful palm tree photos you tagged.
