If Japanese martial artist/dancer Kenichi Ebina wasn't on anyone's radar before his performance Tuesday night on "America's Got Talent," he certainly is now. He turned his performance into a real-life video game, and he played every part!
Kenichi battled aliens, swam underwater and even bent "fire" around himself. It was an epic battle that even led to his defeat at one point. But the game started over, and in the end, Kenichi proved triumphant -- in more ways than one.
He beat the "video game" and earned a standing ovation from everyone in the room. Howie Mandel begged America to just go ahead and hand him the $1 million prize, while Howard Stern called his act "genius, genius, genus."
Hollywood Life's Avery Thompson called it a game changer. "This 'Matrix'-style dancer totally blew us away," she wrote. "It was unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.” Ted Kindig from Buddy TV agreed, calling it a "triumphant performance." He went on to say, "Kenichi integrates video in a way that puts like-minded acts to shame, dancing through a funny, thoroughly engaging game world in which he plays a variety of dancing characters.”
The competition is certainly tough this season on "America's Got Talent," which airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
