Anderson Cooper On Arias Juror Video: 'Well That Was Actually Pointless'

'Well That Was Actually Pointless'

The jurors in the Jodi Arias trial have had a rough day, to say the least. After 13 hours of deliberations, they were unable to reach a consensus on the convicted killer's punishment for the murder of Travis Alexander.

Some jurors were in tears after the hung jury was announced, and one seemed to mouth "I'm sorry" to the family of Arias' victim, the Associated Press reported.

In their rush to gain some insight into the deliberations from one of the jurors, CNN's 'AC 360' broadcast a clip that had no information at all -- and Anderson Cooper candidly admitted it on air.

"Will you give us a breakdown? That's what everybody is curious about," the reporter in the clip is heard saying.

"No comment," the juror says.

"Any advice for the next jury?" the reporter asks.

"No comment," the juror says with growing irritation.

The CNN host doesn't mince words once the clip finishes. "OK, well. That was actually pointless, I don't know why we showed that to you. Obviously he had no comment and they were harassing him."

Cooper is adept at shrugging off awkward situations on the air. On New Year's Eve this year, he tactfully sidestepped Kathy Griffin's attempts to spice up their coverage with sexual innuendo.
