Apple Event Preview: What Will Happen At Apple 'Tablet' Event On Jan. 27, 2010?

The highly-hyped Apple event scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, January 27, 2010, is only hours away. It's widely believed the event will debut the 'Apple tablet' (iPad, iSlate, iTablet, or whatever it's called), but what else can we expect?

The event is expected to begin tomorrow at 10 a.m. Pacific Time and 1 p.m. Eastern Time at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, when Apple says it will unveil its "latest creation."

The setup of the event, and buzz around it, brings back memories of a major Apple event the past: when the iPod was introduced on Oct. 23, 2001.

At that introduction, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said boldly:

"With iPod, Apple has invented a whole new category of digital music player that lets you put your entire music collection in your pocket and listen to it wherever you go. With iPod, listening to music will never be the same again."

The iPod did indeed revolutionize the music industry and device became ubiquitous over time.

It's unclear if the Apple Tablet will have the same affect, but if the buzz is any indication, it'll be a major player.

The Wall Street Journal reports on the many possible uses of the Apple Tablet.

Steve Jobs is throwing his weight behind the product that'll be unveiled tomorrow, reportedly saying that the Apple Tablet "will be the most important thing I've ever done."
