Most entrepreneurs get into business because they want to be their own boss, call their own shots, have the time freedom (eventually) to do whatever they want whenever they want. They want the dream.

The problem occurs when we create our own glass ceiling on income and sabotage our own success. Most entrepreneurs don’t realize that this is even a possibility when they step out on their own. They think the income potential is unlimited and then they reach a brick wall they can’t seem to bust through.

I used to think hard work and smarts paid off, but that’s not enough.

I used to think great connections led to fantastic opportunities, but that’s not enough.

I used to think that strategies and 90 day goals would get me to success, but that’s not enough either.

You can have a wonderful product, a charismatic personality, perfect pricing and all your ducks in a row, and still feel like you’re not living up to the vision in your head. The problem boils down to the stories that you’ve grown up with, were taught through life, and run the show in your head surrounding money.

So here’s what to do:

Name Your Money

Money loves to know where to go. Remember, money isn’t evil; it’s the love of money that gets people in trouble. Money is just currency and currency is energy. It needs to know it has a purpose. Money loves to have a mission and when it has a mission, it flows to you and through you and circles back around to you. But it needs to know where it’s needed.

Create a money spreadsheet and where you’d like to see all your money going. Include all your business items, your personal items, your savings and your “fun” items (yes these count too). When money knows its purpose, it comes flows easier to you.

Get Rid of Your Limiting Beliefs

Write out your money stories. Journal, journal, journal! What did you learn about money from your mother? What about your father? Are you living out someone else’s beliefs about money?

Do you believe things like:

  • Money is scarce
  • Wealthy people are snobs
  • Money causes arguments
  • You’re not worthy to be paid what you want
  • You have to work hard for money (and I don’t want to work hard all my life)I’ll never have enough money
  • Wealth is only for others
  • Only lucky people make money (and that’s not me)
  • I’m not smart enough
  • I need money to make more money
  • I can’t make money doing what I love
  • If I make money, everyone in my life will want it (and I won’t get to use it for myself)
  • I’ll be a target if I’m wealthy

List out what your beliefs are and ask yourself if they’re really true. What would your life be like if you didn’t have this belief? What new belief could you insert instead? What could you accomplish and how would you feel?

What would life be like to know that there is abundance out there for everyone?

Practice Gratefulness

Gratefulness is one of the highest vibrations; it’s key to practicing the Law of Attraction. You will have a hard time attracting more to your life if you fail to see what you already have and you are probably wealthier than you think (it’s not all about money).

"If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.” — Meister Eckhart

Be grateful for everything, big and small and acknowledge the tiniest of things in your life. Every day you’ll find more and more to be grateful for and it begins to be a lot of fun looking for your abundance in every nook and corner. You’ll start to receive more than you could ever imagine.

Feel the Vision and Manifest with Your Subconscious

Anchor in what you want with feeling because it’s only by using emotion you can magnetize your desires through The Universe. Remember that The Universe is always on your side and conspires on your behalf.

One of the best ways to help your subconscious work to manifest your desires is to visualize what you want before you go to sleep. Your brain has no idea what is truth or fiction when you speak to it. Besides, why shouldn’t you believe yourself? So fill your brain with positivity and visions of your achieving your goal, going beyond your goal and looking back on your success. Go through this every night before bed.

Your subconscious will work on it while you sleep, pulling your vision closer and closer to you. And what a wonderful thing to set your sights on while you drift off! When you awake, think about it again because your brain is very pliable in that time you’re waking up. Because your thoughts become the very things that happen in your life, you’ll start to see yourself manifesting exactly what you want with ease!

Now remember that just because you do the above items, doesn’t mean that overnight you’ll become a famous rock star. You have to also do the things that are attached to this success. You must take that inspired action. Show up each day and ask yourself, “What would a successful, wealthy person (without a wealth ceiling) do to get to ________.” Then go do that too!
