There's trouble brewing over at Armani, if reports are to be believed. The New York Daily News writes that Kelle Azzopardi, former executive assistant at Giorgio Armani, is suing the company for firing her after she repeatedly complained about sexual harassment in the workplace.
According to the lawsuit, Azzopardi alleges that in June 2012, Armani's Senior Vice President of wholesale Laura Giulini brought Azzopardi into her office, pulled down her pants and exposed herself to her. According to the New York Post, when Azzopardi turned away, “Ms. Giulini proceeded to tell Ms. Azzopardi, ‘You don’t have to do that. I’m not a prude.’”
Azzopardi complained repeatedly to Armani HR about Giulini’s inappropriate conduct, reports the Daily News, but was ignored. Azzopardi was eventually fired in November in what she claims was an act of wrongful termination. Giulini also exited Armani in November, hired by Zadig & Voltaire to be the French company's managing director.
Azzopardi's LinkedIn account still lists her as "Executive Assistant at Giorgio Armani."
