Manage your own life, design your own schedule, do not wait around to be creative. We get into that thing where we might just be waiting for the phone to ring. Constantly show up and get creative no matter what on your life's journey. Don't waste your time in this life create your own vision.

With the ups and downs in the business and in life The New Collective LA is a place where you can go to during the in-between and land on a stage. Cry, laugh, rage it out, whatever it maybe come stretch out and understand all of your emotions with a greater capacity. By doing this not only do you understand yourself more with support but also you understand other humans more in turn having more compassion for mankind. Come discover, fail with no expectations and know you'll always have a place to land.

When one walk's into the theatre it's as if you were a painter in an open space, white long walls being gifted with blank canvases. This is where you can go discover who you are and decide which steps you truly want to take in this life. It's a sanctuary you call home; no one will judge you but you until you break the barriers and release to the unknown.

The collective consciousness, mind body and spirit is the make of The New Collective LA. "With nurture and compassion it's time to face your fears, take action, get to know your own vehicle, get to know how to take control of your own destiny by looking inside." How do you do this? "You show up and do the work." Most people distract themselves so they do not have the patience to go within and face the truth. Beyond technique artist are out there trying to find their way. Where are you spending your time and energy? What's not being expressed in your life artistically? Take back your power through your own heart and find out what feeds you.
They're actively looking for people who have new ideas, writers, producers, with interests of positive social change. People who lead with their heart forward or want too. " Who see the need to reimagine society" At a very affordable cost you can become a member of a community with no obligations what so ever except to yourself.

I had the grand opportunity to catch up with Greg Braun and Matthew Word who are the creators of The New Collective LA. They are really sweet genuine guys who have the same vision and goals for all humans in this universe.

They're a place that nurture's the artist. It's not just a place where you go do your classes, learn your technique and all that but they have a mission to help artist empower themselves by moving their own ideas forward. This is the foundation of their philosophy; It's why they built the theatre. "It's certainly not lip service." -- Braun mentions.

The method technique that is practiced at the NCLA is Develop Your Own Method otherwise known as DYOM, which was created by the one and only Susan Batson who is based in Manhattan. Batson is a sheer genius, very primal and intuitive to say the least. Both Libra's studied with Batson and then went on to teach for her for seventeen years collectively. Susan taught Greg everything he knew about acting and is the one who sent him flying out of his own birdcage to land on his feet, which then became the NCLA. Braun also has directed two plays at The New Collective LA one that was included in the last season's Hollywood's Fringe Festival.
The New Collective LA recently coached talent booked on Marvel's TV show Agent Carter, Netflix's tv comedy series Flaked, & American Crime on ABC to blurb a few.

"How do I bring my artist into my auditions?"

Constantin Stanislavski, Lee Strasberg, and Harold Clurman are some other crafty icons Word and Braun model their sanctuary after. People who come to the studio should read the book Truth and everything else... Larry Moss, Uta Hagen, Meisner, Ivana Chubbuck.
They explain how in the 1930's the Group Theater, founded by Clurman, was all about getting up on the stage and doing the work in a community supporting one another. Braun loves "the work and seeing people discover themselves". It's not a place where they take your money and run. If one needs to take a time out, travel, etc. It's focused on chipping away at your own pace model to discover and shape your own mold.
