It seems like the art world has gone crazy this week! First, on Wednesday you can go to a Party for the Pelicans at The Wooly. Thursday is the opening of Unlikely Light, a show inspired by creatures that manifest their own light to survive in dark environments, in the blacked-out basement of Y Gallery and Rogue Space Chelsea takes you to Sao Paulo for Faces of Brazilian Graffiti. The Marianne Boesky Gallery gets charitable this Friday with the opening of their show Employee of the Month, featuring works by their "day residents" whose highest aspirations are to have their art in a dentist's office in Queens. Is that not strange enough for you? Then the New Museum, Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth, artist Leah Singer, and Nick Zinner invite you to Get Weird. If you are in the Hamptons this weekend, Steven Klein is opening the doors of his Bridgehampton home for anyone interested in a free photo shoot this Saturday. Just kidding, that one is too good to be true. He is however opening his doors for ACRIA's benefit Cocktails at Sunset. Not your cup of tea? Well Saturday and Sunday you can head over to BAM for their Animation Block Party where they will be screening all sorts of animation.
